Cristiana Di Valentin

Cristiana Di Valentin graduated in Chemistry (1997) at the University of Pavia where she received her Ph.D. (2000). She was appointed by the University of Milano-Bicocca as Assistant (2002), Associate (2012) and Full Professor (2018). She was visiting scientist at TUM, Universitat Barcelona, Ecole Nationale Superieure Paris and Princeton University. Since 2016 she is the head of the NanoQlab (www.nanoQlab.mater.unimib.it).  She holds an ERC Consolidator Grant (2016-2021) entitled: “Smart bioinorganic hybrids for nanomedicine”. Her research activity is focused on the computational simulation of nanostructured and nanosized materials. Her current scientific interests concern: modelling of nanoparticles and 2D materials for biomedical applications; modeling nanostructures functionalization for drug delivery, targeting and imaging; studies of the interaction of nanostructures with biological media and biomembranes. The group of CDV has developed innovative computational multiscale approaches to described complex hybrid bioinorganic systems. She is an author of over 160 scientific publications on peer-reviewed journals.
